Who Will Be The 10th Straw Hat Pirate? The Final Candidates

Luffy famously said at the start of his journey: "I want about 10 men." Currently, including Luffy, there are 10 members on the ship (Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Chopper, Robin, Franky, Brook, Jinbe). But fans count Luffy as "Captain" and look for the 10th Crewmate (Nakama).

With the Egghead arc concluding, the lineup for the final voyage is clearer than ever. Here are the top contenders.

Jewelry Bonney (The Glutton)

• The Case: She has nowhere to go. Her father, Kuma, has lost his mind, and she is a target of the World Government. She fought alongside Luffy in Egghead and even tapped into Nika's power.
• Role: Apprentice / Cabin Girl. Just like Shanks and Buggy were on Roger's ship. She represents the "Next Generation."

Nefertari Vivi (The Diplomat)

• The Case: She is already considered a Straw Hat (member #5.5). Currently hiding with Wapol and Morgans, she needs protection from Imu.
• Role: Diplomat / Queen. She isn't a fighter like Zoro, but her political power is crucial for the final war. Many believe she will rejoin the Sunny for the final trip.

Yamato (The Guardian)

• The Case: Yamato stayed behind in Wano to patrol, just like Jinbe stayed behind in Whole Cake Island initially.
• Role: Logkeeper / Combatant. Yamato carries Oden's will. It is highly likely Yamato will join later as the "Oden" of Luffy's ship for the final stretch to Laugh Tale.

The Wildcard: Smoker?

Some theories suggest a former Marine joining, just like Aokiji joined Blackbeard. Smoker has been disillusioned with the Marines for years. Could he be the one to bridge the gap?
